Human Resources Officer, Hong Kong

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM

The Human Resources team forms part of the business support services, handling a wide variety of local procedures as well as implementing regional and global policies. The Human Resources Officer supports a wide range of processes and transactions carried out by the team. The HR team has responsibility for managing all aspects of HR operations such as recruitment, learning & development, employee relations, and HR policies and procedures in the British Council Hong Kong office. The post-holder will report to the HR Operations Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

The Human Resources (HR) Officer has a clear understanding of business objectives and provides general day-to-day HR support in relation to all HR functions.  The successful candidate will work in compliance with statutory obligations, British Council standards and best practices to meet his/her objectives and will assist line managers to develop a broad range of HR functions and activities.

WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT

You will be working closely with the Regional HR team and hiring managers to support the overall recruitment process. You will able to draft and issue contracts according to the confirmation by the regional recruitment team and HR Business Partner for new staff and responsible for the on boarding process.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You should have excellent spoken and written English and Cantonese, excellent communication skills. You should also have bachelor’s degree or above, professional degree in HR or equivalent is advantageous. It is essential to have minimum three years of experience solid hands-on experience of the whole spectrum of HR functions, including handling expatriates, experience of working in a foreign multinational company environment.
