Helping students improve their language skills

Register on or before 20 March 2017 to enjoy a 10% discount

This Easter, the British Council offers Spring Intensive Courses to kindergarten, primary and S1-S4 students to help develop their reading, writing, comprehension, speaking and presentation skills, expand their vocabulary and improve their confidence in using the language.

Kindergarten students can engage in activities related to Easter and spring.  The new course ‘Get ready for primary Interviews’ help K2 students become familiar with common topics that may arise during interviews and learn how to respond to questions confidently.

The four new Primary courses are delivered through fun and interactive activities. The new ‘Story Wonderland’ course focuses on improving speaking, writing and listening skills of P1 students through reading famous stories. P2 students who attend the ‘Writing Right’ course will learn to be creative writers. They will write instructions and dialogues that will be performed at the end of the course in front of their parents. The course ‘Catch the Reading Bug’ helps P3 – P4 students practise comprehension skills by acting out a variety of exciting stories, improve vocabulary and develop a love of reading. P5 – P6 students who attend the ‘Little Tourist Guides’ course will research tourist attractions in different cities and learn how to create infographics and travel guide videos using various apps. These activities help students develop oral communication and presentation skills.

The two new Secondary courses are integrated with technology. ‘Blogtastic’ is designed for S1 – S2 students while the ‘Our Digital Lives’ course is for S3 – S4 students. Students will create blogs to show the world Hong Kong’s local cuisine, develop  language learning apps, and present their ideas in classes. They will also complete exam-style listening and reading comprehension tasks.

Other Spring Intensive courses for kindergarten students (K1 – K3): ‘Easter Fun’ (K1), ‘Skip into Spring’ (K2) and ‘Down by the Pool’ (K3).

Spring Intensive Courses will be held from 10 to 12 April 2017 at the British Council Admiralty English Language Centre. The courses are open for registration now. An early bird discount of 10% will be offered to students who register on or before 20 March 2017.

About the British Council

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries. Using the UK’s cultural resources we make a positive contribution to the countries we work with – changing lives by creating opportunities, building connections and engendering trust.

We work with over 100 countries across the world in the fields of arts and culture, English language, education and civil society. Each year we reach over 20 million people face-to-face and more than 500 million people online via broadcasts and publications.

Founded in 1934, we are a UK charity governed by Royal Charter and a UK public body. The majority of our income is raised delivering a range of projects and contracts in English teaching and examinations, education and development contracts and from partnerships with public and private organisations. Eighteen per cent of our funding is received from the UK government.
