British Council Summer English Courses

Allowing Students to Prepare for the New Academic Year in the Summer Holiday

Register before 25 May to enjoy up to a 15% discount

While summer holiday is coming closer, it’s time to plan activities for your children to enjoy the holiday, at the same time making good use of the time to enhance their English skills. This summer, the British Council is providing a wide variety of practical and fun Pre-school, Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary courses to students who are preparing for their new academic year. A discount of up to 15% is available for registrations on or before 25 May.

According to a recent research, the current environment for students to learn English is less than ideal. The lack of interaction in English between parents and children fails to inspire their potential in learning and reading English. The summer English courses offered by the British Council allow children to be immersed in an English-only environment and to explore interesting topics in depth with qualified and highly experienced teachers. Parents can also join classroom experience sessions at the end of the courses, which is beneficial to parent-children interaction at home.

The new ‘Introduction to phonics’ course allows children who will be aged 3 on or before 31 August 2014 to begin to learn phonics with an understanding of the sounds, pace, rhythm and timing of language. Parents can choose course that improve all-round skills of their children or choose a particular course that focusses on improving speaking or writing. Registrations before 25 May are entitled to an 8% discount for one course or a 15% discount for two courses[1].

Primary courses use classic stories and videos that delight and engage children, helping them to produce some of their best work.  Courses include ‘Speech & Drama’ course, ‘Boost your English’ course, ‘Writing Skills’ course, etc. Secondary courses are tailored to complement school curriculum, helping students work towards their electives, DSE and university entrance. DSE, Electives and a range of skills-focused courses are available for selection.

British Council is dedicated to make sure that the students are enjoying themselves to help make learning English a delight. Summer English Courses will be held at several British Council’s English Language Centre in July and August.

[1] The discount is not application to registration of IELTS Exams Skills Modular and IELTS Language Preparation Course, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount or promotional item nor redeemed for cash.

About the British Council

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations. We create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and build trust between them worldwide.

We are in more than 100 countries and our 7,000 staff – including 2,000 teachers – work with thousands of professionals and policy makers and millions of young people every year by teaching English, sharing the Arts and delivering education and society programmes. In Hong Kong, we have been doing this since 1948, giving people opportunities to learn, share and connect worldwide.

We are a UK charity governed by Royal Charter. A core publically-funded grant-in-aid provides less than 25 per cent of our turnover, which last year was £781m. The rest of our revenues are earned from services which customers around the world pay for, through education and development contracts and from partnerships with public and private organisations. All our work is in pursuit of our charitable purpose and supports prosperity and security for the UK and globally.
