British Council offers brand new English courses
Fun and interactive English lessons for Easter holidays
Register on or before the 21 March 2015 to enjoy a 10% discount

This Easter, the British Council is introducing brand new Spring Intensive Courses for students to learn English through social topics, such as environmental protection and nature, and improve their all-rounded English language skills. These fun and rewarding courses are designed for students from kindergarten to secondary levels, and are being taught by internationally qualified teachers at the British Council.

Among the nine courses, three of them are newly launched. The ‘Create Your Own Home’ course gives primary one students an opportunity to create a home model, and learn to describe their homes in class. During the process, they can apply phonics knowledge of basic letters and sounds, and at the same time learn to cooperate and share with others. Primary three to four students can attend the ‘Fascinating Nature’ course to sharpen their writing and comprehension skills through writing a report on their favourite underwater animals. They will also practise their English skills though a series of interactive activities such as songs and chants, role plays and craft activities. The ‘Ecowarriors’ course is specially designed for primary five to six students, who will create their own environmental campaign and learn to express opinions more effectively. They will also develop argumentative skills in writing and speaking, and critical-thinking skills.

Other Spring Intensive Courses include ‘Skip into Spring’ for kindergarten two students and ‘Speech and Drama’ for kindergarten three students, and ‘Writing Right’, ‘Read to Succeed’ and ‘The Art of Debating’ for primary students. The highly popular ‘Say it with Style’ course is also available for secondary one to two students.

Spring Intensive Courses will be held on 8 – 10 April 2015 at the British Council Admiralty English Language Centre. The courses are open for registration now. An early bird discount of 10% will be offered to students who register on or before 21 March 2015.

About the British Council

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and build trust between them worldwide.

We work in more than 100 countries and our 8,000 staff – including 2,000 teachers – work with thousands of professionals and policy makers and millions of young people every year by teaching English, sharing the arts and delivering education and society programmes. In Hong Kong, we have been doing this since 1948, giving people opportunities to learn, share and connect worldwide.

We are a UK charity governed by Royal Charter. A core publicly-funded grant provides 20 per cent of our turnover which last year was £864 million. The rest of our revenues are earned from services which customers around the world pay for, such as English classes and taking UK examinations, and also through education and development contracts and from partnerships with public and private organisations. All our work is in pursuit of our charitable purpose and supports prosperity and security for the UK and globally.
