Thomas Heatherwick, the celebrated cross-discipline UK designer, will be in Hong Kong on 29 April for the second Central Saint Martins Cross Culture Lecture, “The Bridge of Aspirations – Connecting East and West”. The event will be convened by Professor Jeremy Till, Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of the Arts London, and Head, Central Saint Martins, and Kai-Yin Lo, Visiting Principal Lecturer, Central Saint Martins, and co-presented by the British Council and the Asia Society Hong Kong Center .
The Lecture “The Bridge of Aspirations – Connecting East and West” highlights the concept developed by Heatherwick Studio, for a new pedestrian Garden Bridge across the River Thames, connecting the North and South Banks of London with a garden. The event, which will be attended by Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBS, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration, aims to promote the exchange and application of creativity and innovative ideas, and bring home the need for their exploration and cross-fertilisation on many levels.
