British Council supports Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s collaboration with UK Cellist Matthew Barley.
World-renowned cellist and current Music Director of BBC2 TV’s Classical Star programme, Matthew Barley is passionate about improvisation, multi-arts projects, new music, and pioneering community programmes. Barley has performed in over 50 countries in many of the world’s great concert halls with orchestras including BBC Philharmonic, Vienna Radio Symphony, Czech Philharmonic and Kremerata Baltica. His extensive 2013 tour “Around Britten” – in celebration of Britten’s centenary with a series of innovative programmes at unexpected venues – won international acclaim.

Concert Yoga with Matthew Barley

Come stretch your body and relax your mind to an hour of Bach’s cello works and improvisation with Matthew Barley and yoga instructor Anri Shiga from Pure Yoga.
*Participants need to bring their own yoga mat, no yoga experience necessary and changing area will be provided.
