Introducing Scholarships for Women 2025 in collaboration with the British Council and University of Bristol, and supported by Sir Tang Shiu Kin Education Trust. This opportunity offers 4 fully funded seats for aspiring scholars to pursue their academic dreams and advance their careers in specific subjects

We are looking for women who:

Can take up a course of study in the UK for the academic year from September / October 2025-2026
Can demonstrate a need for financial support
Have an undergraduate degree that will enable them to gain access onto one of the pre-selected postgraduate courses at a UK university (for master’s level)
Can attain the level of English required for postgraduate study at a UK university 
Are active in the field with work experience or a proven interest in their subject area
Are passionate about their course of study and are welling to engage as committed British Council scholarship alumni

Scholarship includes

  • full tuition fees
  • up to 12-months monthly stipend at the rate of £1,603 per month to cover costs of living, including accommodation
  • IELTS exam fee (for scholars without a valid Test of English)
  • return economy class travel from home country to UK
  • study related costs, such as essential travel, materials, equipment, and thesis printing
  • visa and insurance / NHS surcharge costs
  • ad hoc costs such as heavy baggage allowance
  • reasonable adjustments costs for scholars with disabilities.

Eligibility criteria

Scholars must:

  • identify as a woman
  • are a passport holder and permanent resident of Hong Kong.
  • are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes
  • have not previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK or lived recently in the UK
  • do not hold dual British citizenship
  • can demonstrate need for financial support
  • have submitted an application to study a qualifying one-year full-time master's degree. It must start in September 2025, and be in one of the eligible programmes
  • will return to their country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after their scholarship has ended.
