The British Council Hong Kong has launched the second year of a prestigious award celebrating outstanding achievements of the UK’s international alumni. Hong Kong is one of 14 locations honoured to be hosting the Alumni Awards 2017, alongside Egypt, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey and the USA.
The Alumni Awards demonstrate the impact of UK higher education and celebrate the achievements of distinguished UK alumni, raising the profile of the universities they attended, and UK higher education. Award winners and finalists are leaders who have used their experience of studying at a UK university to make a positive contributionto their communities, professions and countries.
Who can apply?
This year, the Alumni Awards are open to alumni currently residing in any of the 14 participating countries who have studied in the UK, at an officially recognised provider of UK university degree level study, within the last 15 years.
Application is now closed. Award finalists will be announced in January 2017 and the winners will be revealed at prestigious award ceremonies between January and March 2017. Finalists and award winners have the opportunity to raise their international profile, expand their professional networks, and enhance their careers.

There are three award categories:
PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
This award recognises alumni who have distinguished themselves through exemplary leadership and achievements in their professional industry, and who can demonstrate the highest level of integrity and character in their professional career.
ENTREPRENEURIAL AWARD
This award recognises alumni who are active in initiating, or contributing to, innovative new business opportunities with strong growth prospects. This is an award for self-starters, go-getters and risk-takers.
SOCIAL IMPACT AWARD
The Social Impact Award acknowledges alumni who have made an exceptional contribution and commitment to creating positive social change and improving lives.
