Can love extinguished be reignited?
Can love overcome all, conflicting opinions, dramatically opposed points of view?
It’s a bitterly cold London evening.
School teacher Kyra Hollis receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant, a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife has recently died. As the evening progresses, the couple attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship. But they find themselves locked in a dangerous battle, pitting opposing ideologies against mutual desires…
Directed by Oscar-nominated Stephen Daldry – who helmed the sell-out West End production of The Audience with Helen Mirren that inaugurated Broadway Cinema’s National Theatre Live – Skylight is written by Sir David Hare, the acclaimed author of 29 plays for stage as well as numerous screenplays, including The Hours and The Reader. Hare, best known for his sharp political insights and sensitive portrayal of women and relationships, continues his long-time creative collaboration with leading man Bill Nighy in this work.
