SCHOLARSHIP FOR A POSTGRADUATE MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMME
AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL, UNITED KINGDOM
The University of Bristol is widely recognized as one of the top-ranking research and teaching universities in the United Kingdom. The Hong Kong Branch of the University of Bristol Alumni Association is pleased to offer a scholarship to a qualified student from Hong Kong pursuing postgraduate studies at Bristol for the academic year commencing in September 2025.
1. This scholarship is available for any postgraduate Master’s degree programme with a maximum duration of two years. It is intended to assist with tuition fees payable to the University, up to a maximum of £15,000.
2. For two-year Master’s degree programmes, only new applicants will be considered; applications from current students will not be entertained. The scholarship will be conditional on the completion of the first year of studies, and payment will be made upon submission of a provisional transcript as proof of completion.
3. The successful candidate must have been accepted into a programme of study at the University of Bristol for the academic year 2025-2026 and should demonstrate substantial links with Hong Kong, such as:
● Residing in Hong Kong for seven out of the last ten years.
● Completing the majority of formal education in Hong Kong.
4. Graduates of universities outside Hong Kong are expected to have returned to the SAR and worked or studied there for at least two years following graduation.
5. The scholarship will be awarded based on proven or potential academic excellence and the candidate's anticipated contribution to Hong Kong upon their return. Shortlisted applicants will need to demonstrate both financial need and the ability to cover additional costs associated with studying in Bristol, including living expenses.
6. The application deadline is March 21, 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-person interview in Hong Kong during April-May 2025.
7. The executive committee of the University of Bristol Alumni Association, Hong Kong Branch, reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship offer at any time if it determines that doing so is in the best interests of the applicants due to public health, safety, or other concerns.
