Three full scholarships are available for applicants who are ordinarily resident in Hong Kong and who are applying to a full-time master’s or full-time DPhil course at Oxford. Please note that DPhil courses with four years of fee liability are not eligible (to check the fee liability for your course, see the Fee liability page).

The scholarship covers course fees, college fees and a grant for living costs of at least £14,269. Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course. The scholarship is funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Since 1998, the Trust has been awarding annual scholarships at the city's tertiary institutions to students who combine outstanding academic performance with a strong commitment to serving the community. In a major strategic step forward in nurturing Hong Kong’s most promising people, the Trust will be offering graduate scholarships at the University of Oxford starting from the 2016-17 cohort.

Selection will be based on the following criteria: academic merit; evidence of outstanding leadership and team work; commitment to service and improving the lives of others; and strength of character, including truth, courage, devotion to duty, empathy, social awareness, and commitment to fairness and justice.

To be considered for this scholarship, submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline (6 or 20 January 2017, depending on your course). If you are eligible for this scholarship, you will be contacted by email around late March 2017 and asked to submit additional material to show how you meet the selection criteria outlined above. Selection is expected to take place in May 2017. Please see the Standard scholarship selection terms for more information about the application and selection process.
