Join award-winning British author Natasha Pulley as she talks about the many different worlds and themes of speculative fiction, drawing on her own work and sources of inspiration.

Pulley’s writing marries first-hand research — from learning Spanish in Peru to volunteering as a deckhand on a historical tall ship on the North Sea — with fantastical imagination, while her characters and the worlds they occupy are rich in magical realism and vivid imagery. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about speculative fiction from one of the UK’s most exciting young fantasy writers.

Her widely-acclaimed debut novel The Watchmaker of Filigree Street won a Betty Trask Award, followed by her second novel The Bedlam Stacks. The Lost Future of Pepperharrow, the sequel to The Watchmaker of Filigree Street, will be published in 2020.
