The British Council is planning an outbound mission of up to 15 Vice-Chancellors to visit Hong Kong. The mission will focus on UK profile-building, research partnership-scoping, identifying TNE and mobility opportunities and building understanding within the UK sector of the latest policies and higher education initiatives in Hong Kong. The mission will focus on three key areas:
- Cultural and Creative industries
- Allied health science / big data in healthcare
- Technology transfer & commercialisation of IP
Working with UKRI, UUKi and DBT, the British Council will structure the mission around visits to Higher Education institutions, meetings with research institutes and government agencies such as University Grants Commission Hong Kong, and a roundtable discussion with peers from the Hong Kong HE sector.
As a part of the mission, we will also spend an afternoon in Shenzhen or Guangzhou to explore the opportunities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), where a number of Hong Kong universities have campuses.
