Awarded the distinction of being a Centre of Excellence from The Power of Music Fund established by the National Academy for Social Prescribing (NASP), Music in Mind (MiM) programme provides care and support through music-therapy-base music making. It has reached people across 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester, the North East and North West of England. Participants can co-create music with easy-to-use instruments in the MiM workshops to share joy and improve confidence and well-being.
MiM will conduct a few MiM sessions with local partners including Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, Hong Kong Design Institute, West Kowloon Cultural District and Christian Family Service Centre (CFSC). All Music Café sessions will be documented and shared at a panel discussion to explore how social prescribing works in local context with transdisciplinary collaboration, which is an emerging practice in Hong Kong.
