In a fast-moving city and a world of homogenous designed space, what or whom defines Hong Kong’s urban identity. What should the city look like in the future?
This workshop and interactive exhibition sets out to explore themes that have and will influence the identity and changing needs within the city. It looks at the historic changes to Hong Kong’s urban landscape, the collective memories of the place and its culture, as well as seeking opinions of an imagined future. It will use oral histories in different languages, historic images and footage, films and imagined visual representations. The audience will participate and engage with oral commentary, graphical drawing and exhibitions of applied research relating to sustainable development, resilient cities, green and blue infrastructure, vertical and productive landscapes, well-being and social and cultural identity.
